7 online earning sites by taking surveys and overview

1. OneOpinion

Average hourly Earnings: $2.03

This website is a survey aggregator with a strong screening process. Its dashboard is informative and includes useful sections such as your activity and a contact form. The site did a better job than most at selecting surveys for which we qualified. In terms of survey points, 500 or 1,000 points may appear high at first glance, but when converted to actual rewards, you'd receive 50 cents or a dollar. You also can't cash out until you reach 25,000 points, which is equivalent to $25.

2. Survey Junkie

Average hourly wage: $1.57 This is a smaller survey aggregator, but it is notable. The website has a simple, easy-to-use dashboard and a high point value for each survey completed. The point system is straightforward, and the dashboard shows you how much your points are worth in dollars. However, you must first accumulate 500 points before you can cash out.

3. Opinion Outpost

Average hourly wage: $1.50 Opinion Outpost is not like other survey sites that bombard users with information and opportunities. Its simple, user-friendly website allowed us to complete survey after survey without much thought. As newcomers, we appreciated the site's simple points system, which works out to 10 cents per point. Most importantly, we earned some money. We earned $1.50 per hour on Opinion Outpost and cashed it out on Amazon.

4. i-Say

Average hourly wage: $1.01 This website only offers surveys through Ipsos, the company that owns it. The site provides fewer surveys than aggregators, but you remain on i-Say for each survey, making the overall experience easier. It sometimes shows surveys you've already tried, which is perplexing.

5. MyPoints

Average hourly wage: $1.01 This site had the most survey opportunities of any site we tested, with 75. However, it had the lowest success rate (9.33%) and the lowest average hourly pay rate. Furthermore, the reasons for survey disqualifications were frequently unclear. We were disqualified once after being asked to write the word "Purple."

6. Swagbucks

Earnings per hour: $0.89 on average This site has a lot of survey opportunities, but disqualifications are common. We were sometimes disqualified simply for clicking on a link to a survey. Swagbucks aggregates third-party surveys, so some of the sites it directs you to are superior to others. Earning points takes time, but the site's extensive rewards marketplace offers hundreds of options, including gift cards, sweepstakes, and PayPal payments.

7. Toluna

Earnings per hour: $0.71 on average Toluna, unlike many other sites, allows users to choose the topics of their surveys, such as electronics or travel, making the work more interesting. However, this perk did not compensate for the low pay. We earned only 71 cents per hour when converting points to cash, one of the lowest rates of any of the sites we tested. Our five hours of points were insufficient to redeem the cheapest gift cards.

Bonus:

InboxDollars

Earnings per hour: $0.41 on average After confirming their email address with InboxDollars, new users receive a $5 bonus. But that didn't compensate for how little money we made in an hour of survey taking — 41 cents, the lowest rate of any of the 12 sites we tested. Instead of sending us surveys, the site occasionally directed us to promotions that required our address, phone number, and birthdate.
